Wake vortices are large rolling air masses generated by aircraft as a consequence of lift. They can constitute a potential hazard to following aircraft during the landing and take-off phases.  In order to guaranty the required separation under certain conditions, which would increase traffic capacity during peak periods and reduce saturation at heavily used airports, SEAGLET uses Doppler Lidar to derive the localization, characterization, evolution and decay of aircraft wake vortex.
